How your headcount changes the bundle
You give the number of workers at each workplace. The committee or representative pack follows it, and every document carries your company name and contacts. More on the Ontario violence and harassment policy page.
- Ontario: Every employer, whatever its size, must prepare a workplace violence policy and a workplace harassment policy, and review them as often as necessary, at least once a year. (OHSA, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.1, s. 32.0.1(1))
- Ontario: The violence and harassment policies must be in writing and posted at a conspicuous place in the workplace, or in a readily accessible electronic format. This does not apply where five or fewer workers are regularly employed at the workplace, unless an inspector orders otherwise. (OHSA, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.1, s. 32.0.1(2)-(3))
- Ontario: The written policy duty does not apply at a workplace where five or fewer workers are regularly employed, so it starts at 6 workers, counted per workplace. (OHSA, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.1, s. 25(4))
- Ontario: Every employer must, in consultation with the committee or health and safety representative if there is one, develop and maintain a written program to implement the workplace harassment policy. There is no headcount exemption for this written program. (OHSA, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.1, s. 32.0.6(1))
- Ontario: A joint health and safety committee is required at a workplace where 20 or more workers are regularly employed. A constructor does not need one at a project expected to last less than three months. (OHSA, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.1, s. 9(1)-(2))
- Ontario: Where no joint health and safety committee is required and more than five workers are regularly employed, the employer must have the workers select at least one health and safety representative. (OHSA, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.1, s. 8(1))
